Prenatal visits are a great way for you to get prepared to breastfeed your little one. During these visits we can make a breastfeeding plan detailing your goals, identifying your support system and steps to take to meet your goals. If this is not your first child and your previous breastfeeding experience wasn’t ideal, we can discuss the past journey and help make a plan for success this time around.
You can also make a prenatal appointment to discuss a medical diagnosis that you might have, especially if it is related to any thyroid condition, PCOS, diabetes or infertility. Previous breast surgeries are also a reason to make a prenatal appointment.
Meeting while you are pregnant can be a great way to answer any general questions about breastfeeding that you might have and a way to establish care in the event that you need lactation support postpartum. Feeling prepared to take on the next phase of motherhood can start with a prenatal appointment.
